Creative Writers Series

The popular Creative Writer’s Series announces a call for submissions to the NWSA's 2007 conference in St. Charles, Illinois.  The Creative Writing Series runs concurrently with the panels and papers and is a supportive and lively venue for presenting creative work.

The Creative Writing Series committee is especially interested in receiving manuscripts that respond to the conference themes of Feminism’s and Women’s Studies Past, Present, and Future; Feminism as Performance/Performing Feminisms; Girls' Studies; and Im/Migration and Mobility.

However, works submitted on other themes will also be considered.  We welcome poetry, fiction, non-fiction, dramatic monologue, cross-genre work and writing that crosses the creative-critical divide.

This year, NWSA extends a special invitation to young writers.  We hope to feature talented writers from every age group, including junior high, high school, and college writers.   Use the online proposal form to submit a 50-100 word abstract of your work and in place of the proposal description submit no more than 10 double-spaced pages of sample work, no matter what genre.
